This weekend has been great, but why can't it always be like this? I mean this is the points should be gained!

So I wondering why A.net are making this for the weekend only

they are probably doing this to test the rebalancing...i think it is a good idea

i think its because they're trying it out, faction points that is. I'm not sure though, i just heard that as a rumor, which as we all know is the most reliable source of info on the planet

I think in the IGN interview the devs said it was to test out their skill rebalancing and the increased faction rewards. Seemed like they also said that they'd take some time afterwards to analyze the results, and then make further changes. My guess is, especially considering how popular the faction increase has been, is that those changes will be permanent. Possibly when they release Sorrow's Furnace? We'll see.

But to the original question, yeah, it's a trial period thing.

please note the following is my OPINION only and is not based on any fact of any sort.

opinion only so please no flames

1 they said any changes made would be small ones so they would not have to backtrack far if any

2 after analyzing their data i think there is a better than 50/50 chance the 5x will stay for the simple reason if they took back any of it there would be a howl from pvp.

3 my guess is they might even bump it a bit beyond 5x to maybe 5.5x/6x or similar so they can say if you loved the 5x we went even farther to please you

I'm guessing it'll be 1-2 weeks before the make permanent faction changes after the event.

I can't even play PvE or PvP. The lag is so bad, i can't even connect at times.

I hope you're having fun.

Let's just hope for increased faction in the future, so i won't miss out. A PvE weekend would be nice too...more XP and drops. I can dream...

Personally I think they are trying to appease everyone who feel they are getting nerfed. Sure you may pissed they nerfed your favorite build..but get 5 times the faction to PVP. It kind of makes you forget the BS.

i think they are testing it and if they read this i love the change.make it permanent PLZ!! i got an elite in 1 and a half hours doing random arenas.

Getting this much faction all the time would allow people to unlock everything so quickly... And the lag is stupid, i can no longer play during the day here as its so bad.

Sucks it's only this weekend; I'm awya from home for the only time ever, and on my guild forums, they keep going on about all the faction they get from GvG

I think the faction multiplier is a bit high for ongoing play, but I wouldn't be surprised if the 'permanent' level wasn't something half way between original and this weekend's 'extra crispy'.

Overall, I've enjoyed this weekend so far. Sure, lots of n00bs, quitters, character testing this weekend, but that was to be expected. The higher faction and really wide diversity of teams made it very interesting. I was also surprised to see that there are still builds out there that can dominate, including one Me/N fellow who soloed out a couple of opponents.

This is one clever community...

I hope they were doing the final tests for Sorrow's furnace during this PvPx weekend. Maybe this was just a distraction for the free update.

I donnu. Only having it for one weekend sounds like a dumb idea. Even at this rate it will still take me 2-3 months to unlock the rest of the skills, items and runes in the game O.O

I propose that they host one every weekend.

I think the faction now is about right. An increase would be good, sure, but I am REALLY liking this increase. It was definitely needed
